No Shame

When dealing with sexually struggles there is a lot of shame and guilt that is associated with the struggle. Guilt relates to behavior while shame relates to our identity. “I made a mistake” guilt, “I am a mistake” shame. Every time Jesus dealt with women that had sexual sin He never shamed them and He never condemned them. The woman at the well (John 4: 1-42), the women caught in adultery (John 8: 1-11) and the women that anointed Jesus’ feet (Luke 7:36-50). All three women dealt with sexual sin, all three women stood before Jesus, and He loved them. All three events are a beautiful picture of God’s grace, and if you are struggling with sexually sins, God already knows, and He is only looking at you with love. God wants to love you, and you have to let Him. For many years I lived in shame and I never allowed God to come in and love me. I really believed I was such a “mistake” that God didn’t want to love me or how could He love me due to all the sexual sins I committed. Oh how God loves His children that struggle with sexually sins, oh how He will deal with you as he dealt with the woman at the well, the women caught in adultery and the women who anointed His feet. Unfortunately there are believers, pastors, others, that do cast shame and look down on those who struggle sexually. They need to take the plank out of their eyes. Jesus love you! If you are dealing with Shame due to sexually sin go to Jesus and ask for His forgiveness and know that He does not condemned you. To God Be The Glory!
